My name is Mike Hanner and I’m the Principal & Co-Founder of Bridgemark Insurance Group.

When did you start your business?


Where are you located?

We’re a national company with offices in Arizona, California, Iowa, and Kansas.

Tell us, how has G10 helped you as an entrepreneur? 

growth10 has granted me the ability to challenge my assumptions and draw from the experiences of other successful executives and business owners. I’ve received great insights and clarity to some of our most pressing objectives. The trust and friendships I’ve established within the tribe have been invaluable as well.

What motivates you to do what you do? 

Businesses lack clarity and trust with their group health and insurance brokers and consultants they work with. These companies need real help avoiding the ever-changing compliance issues, controlling costs, and knowing the coverage they are providing is making a tangible impact on their business and their employees. Knowing that we can successfully manage these challenges for them with integrity and transparency is motivating. Building something that my family can respect and my son can look up to is also incredibly motivating.

What would you tell your younger, entrepreneurial self?

Nothing worthwhile long-term can be done quickly. It’s also critical to be patient, stay focused, plan intentionally, take educated risks, and surround yourself with people you trust, respect, and can learn from. Plan on making your mistakes early, learn and grow from them, repeat this process, and never give up – most everyone else will, and that’ll make all the difference in the end.

If you had an extra hour each day of uninterrupted work time, how would you spend it?

Planning and delegating. Execution is critically important, but executing intentionally and rallying your team around those goals is equally as important as you grow your company.

What would you attribute most to your business’s success?

Drive, passion, and transparency – these are the qualities that help you overcome obstacles and create opportunities. I’m not afraid to be very honest with people, because I know sincerity is increasingly absent in business these days…I’m willing to grind, be honest, and have fun doing it.
